Alanna Peters

Alanna Peters’ work explores impermanence through light and movement in water. She captures weightlessness and reflection through transparency. Her underlying theme is to paint what we wish to hang onto while knowing we must let it go. She has a desire to connect with the viewer on an intimate level in order to share in a dialogue of emotions and human experience.

Alanna’s work is predominantly figurative oil painting on wood panel. Alanna was born in Ottawa and has lived in many parts of the world. She earned an Honours BA for Fine Arts from McMaster University (2001) and a BEd for Arts Based Learning from Queen’s University (2005).

Her work is found in private and public collections in Canada, the United States, France, Germany and Uganda. Alanna lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
