Danny Smith

D$ is a Toronto-based artist whose work was first published on the front cover of the Montreal Gazette Sunday Comic Book, at age 7. He is the only other artist to exhibit work at The Art Of Banksy in Toronto, June-September 2018.

His portraits of Vance Joy and Rascal Flatts are on display at Budweiser Stage all summer long, 2018.

His black & white portrait paintings of pop cultural icons and the wild, scratchy collages of rock stars have been shown or are currently hanging at: Merchandise Building Lofts, Red Lion Advertising Agency, SNDWRX Audio, Cylinder Sound & Film, H Bar, Red Line Cafe, Page One Cafe and over 100 homes across the world.

He was commissioned to create interior murals for Budweiser Canada in 2012 and Page One Cafe in 2017.

D$ are the initials of Danny Smith. He is also a Film & TV actor who has shared the screen with Mark Wahlberg, Jeremy Renner, Kirsten Dunst and Leonard Nimoy.

In 2017, he went behind the camera and directed a Sport Chek commercial starring the Toronto Raptors’ Kyle Lowry.

He was also a Sony Records-signed musician as lead singer/guitarist/ pianist/songwriter in the LA-based band The City Drive from 2002-2008 who opened for Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Hoobastank, Goo Goo Dolls and Warped Tour 2006 & 2007.
