Marco Cera Bio

Hello! I’m Marco Cera. I was born in Vicenza, Italy in 1970 and I graduated at the Liceo Artistico Statale in Valdagno, Italy. My career has been divided between music (Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra in Toronto) and visual arts.
My paintings are inspired by the Old Masters and my technique is fast quasi alla prima. I like to imagine the layers of paint like the polyphony in a music composition, so much that my gestures are inspired by the music vocabulary: harmony and composition, fast, slow, long and short strokes, accents, dynamics… These tools help me materialize the surreal and enigmatic themes that are fascinating to my imagination.
I have been showing my work at True North Gallery in Waterdown, (ON) world’s first fine art gallery dedicated to visual art by musicians. I expose regularly at Super Wonder Gallery in Toronto.
