Wei Xu

I was born in China, and emigrated to Canada in 2003. Currently I am the member of Beijing Oil Painting Society, as well as the member of Portrait Society of America. I graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, and Chinese Academy of Oil Painting. I held three times personal exhibitions in Toronto Public Library from 2005 to 2007. Participated the 57th Outdoor Art Exhibition in 2018 Some of my works were published on “China Oil Painting” in 2013, and collected by China Qing Dao Gallery of Modern Arts in 2015.  I took part in the exhibition at Beijing 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Victories of the World Anti-Fascism War. 

My artwork takes a critical view of social, cultural and religious issues. My works express modern culture through classic techniques, and engage diverse subjects including the experience to seek for truth, natural beauty and urban environment.
