Since childhood I have created art, one of my dreams was to be an artist. However, I became a fashion and travel journalist after I graduated in China. In 2013, I moved to Canada to pursue the artist dream and wanted to be a professional artist.
I am interested in combining oriental and western culture. All my work has its roots in symbolism and I explore that intersection of different cultures and art styles. My work is about transcending fantasy style. Formally, I like to play with negative spaces and details. My work requires all my attention to historic references and life around me. The key to improve myself is to keep creating, imagining and practicing my art.
The mediums I prefer to choose are oil paint, ink, pastel and colored pencil. They allow me the precision to catch all details in my work. I did many Chinese traditional mythology and cultural ideas which combined with western contemporary media.
